- Crowns are simple, easy ways to make every student feel special. Having crowns in your classroom can give students something to work towards or look forward to. Let the birthday boy or girl wear a birthday crown on his or her special day. Brighten every child's birthday by making them feel like a regal presence for a day. Crowns can also be used as rewards for certain accomplishments in the classroom. Offer your students extra credit every week and let each student wear a colorful crown for a day every time they complete 10 extra credit problems.
- Incentive Charts are attractive ways to display the personal accomplishments of students. Write each student's name on a horizontal line and an awaiting task on the vertical lines. Once each student completes the tasks in question, give them a star. This visual display of accomplishments will encourage every student to do better and accomplish more.
- Pencils may seem like simple objects, but they can actually work as incentives for your students. Put a colorful new pencil on each student's desk before a standardized state test to get them excited about the upcoming hours. Your students will be excited to use their new pencils and will preform much better. Another great way to motivate students during a long test is to give them peppermints. Peppermints double as a tasty candy and a concentration booster. Simply sucking on a peppermint will help you concentrate more than before!
