This is my second set of Making Words cards. I have used them in my classes for five years. As I cut apart each set, I number them with a different number for each of my students, so that we can find the owner of any cards that are lost. Each child has a zip-lock bag with their own set of letters in it. The children find the letters I have posted for the lesson as soon as they arrive in the mornings. This is a nice activity as all of the children are coming into the room and unpacking their belongings for the day. We make words each morning before we begin our seatwork, reading groups, and learning centers. Individual Making Words is a wonderful complement to our reading and spelling programs. Children at all developmental levels are able to be successful with Making Words.
